My first collaboration with a Rabbi
A few months ago I was forwarded an email from The Amen Institute about a new series that was going to happen matching up Jewish artists with Rabbis to discuss assigned portions of the Torah, then the artist would create an original artwork and the Rabbi would write a dvar Torah(like a sermon), and then both would be presented live on social media.
I was lucky enough to be paired with my friend, Rabbi Bronwen Mullin. We had two Zoom discussions over a period of two months where we went to this place of comparing the Israelites to a traveling circus. It really excited me as an artist and I downloaded a zillion vintage circus posters and photos of tents, all to inspire.
